Le Ionian King est un ferry ayant appartenu à la compagnie grecque Agoudimos Lines. Construit en 1991 aux chantiers IHI de Tokyo pour la compagnie japonaise Shin Nihonkai Ferry, il assurait à l'origine les liaisons entre les îles d'Honshū et d'Hokkaidō sous le nom de Ferry Lavender (フェリーらべんだあ, Ferī Rabendā).
